The first beauty launch I ever attended, when I became a beauty editor almost 20 years ago, was for Dermalogica. I’ll never forget it, because the Dermalogica marketing team were the most enthusiastic, lovely people. They had such an intense love for the brand, you could almost feel their passion.

I’ve loved the brand since, and have blogged about many of my favourite Dermalogica products HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Dermalogica recently launched the Oil to Foam Total Cleanser R1,199 BUY. Being a big fan of cleansing oils and balms in general, I couldn’t wait to try it.

I can report back that this delicious formula effectively removes makeup (long wearing & waterproof formula included), sunscreen and dirt while cleansing the skin.

To use, simply dampen your face, then massage the gel-oil over face and eyes to dissolve surface oil and dirt. Wet your hands, continue massaging to create a foam. Rinse with warm water.

I like to include a second cleanse using the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, but you don’t NEED to because the Oil to Foam Total Cleanser leaves the skin ultra-clean and smooth.

Another newish product from Dermalogica is the Dynamic Skin Retinol Serum R2,199 BUY. Now, you all know I’m the BIGGEST fan of Retinol as an ingredient because it shows a visible improvement on the skin very quickly. Retinol works to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, retexturize the skin and even skintone.

This Dymanic Skin Retinol Serum contains a 3.5% Retinoid complex as well as Squalane.

This high-performance retinoid serum harnesses an advanced retinoid blend plus a booster to help transform the appearance of skin. A complex of fast-acting Granactive Retinoid ®, Retinol, time-released encapsulated Retinol, and a Retinol Booster support a continual release of skin-smoothing actives working at different speeds to address the four signs of skin ageing. Concentrated Squalane works with soothing, oat-derived Beta-Glucan to help support recovery for healthier-looking skin.

Normal, oily and combination skin types can all use this serum.

Note: Because Retinol is super active, you could notice some temporary redness, flakiness, peeling or sensitivity. These reactions are perfectly normal (it means the Retinol is working) and will stop over time. Also, ALWAYS wear a sunscreen when using Retinol as the ingredient can make skin sun sensitive.

Sound Sleep Cocoon R1,799 BUY is an oldie but a goodie. I last reviewed it HERE and was thrilled to receive another one. This gel cream that’s used at night contains encapsulated, motion-activated Lavender essential oil, calming Sandalwood and Patchouli that all work to soothe the senses while promoting a deep, restful sleep. It boosts skin radiance and reduces signs of skin fatigue all while nourishing the skin.

Persian Silk Tree Extract reduces signs of skin fatigue and restores vitality while Wu-Zhu-Yu Extract provides visibly radiant skin come morning. Tamarind Seed Polysaccharide cushions skin, creating a nourishing cocoon of comfort for softer, more hydrated skin. Australian Kakadu Plum Extract, rich in antioxidant Vitamin C, is clinically shown to improve and brighten skin tone.

Use Sound Sleep Cocoon at night after your serum on face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
