Hyaluronic acid has become extremely popular of late and we’re seeing it included in a lot of formulas that address dry and dehydrated skins. It’s now even surfacing in haircare ranges, such as the Schwarzkopf Professional bc Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick range for normal, wavy or curly hair.

Hyaluronic Acid is renowned for its excellent plumping properties, and acts as an efficient hydrating agent that creates long-lasting moisture. It has the ability to attract and hold moisture, leaving the skin nourished and supple. However, it can also play an important role in haircare.

When hair lacks moisture, it lacks shine, elasticity and bounce, making it brittle and harder to manage. Thirsty hair needs treatment fast; feeding it with essential moisture will give improved elasticity and a longer-lasting, healthy-looking shine.
The Schwarzkopf Professional bc Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick range contains a Hyaluronic Acid Derivate that rebalances the moisture level of the hair and scalp.

Hyaluronic Moisture Kick rebalances and delivers optimum levels of moisture to even the driest hair, improving resilience, increasing shine and eliminating static. Also included in the ingredients is Cell Perfector Technology that works to smooth the surface of the hair making it more supple, manageable, bouncy and shiny.

BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Micellar Shampoo R279 for a 250ml

I use this lightly scented shampoo two to three times a week to gently clean my hair and scalp and prevent dehydration. Because the hyaluronic acid in the formula binds moisture to hair, the locks are left softer, supple and more nourished with brilliant shine. What I like most about this formula is that while it’s intensly nourishing, it doesn’t weigh the hair down one bit. Also, a little really does go a long way and I find for my longer hair (just past my shoulders) I need only the size of a R5 coin.

BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Curl Power 5 R332 for a 125ml

I’m lucky to have wavy hair that I can either blow dry straight or wear curly. On days I decide to play up my waves, I like using a curl cream formula that defines my curls without leaving them hard or crunchy. This product performs five actions: (1) Deep Hydration; (2) up to 48 hours of curl definition; (3) Suppleness; (4) anti-frizz control and (5) bounce. I like how the Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Curl Power 5 not only defines my curls giving them bounce, but also controls any frizz. Along with Hyaluronic acid, the formula contains moisturising Panthenol and Glycerin to improve the hair’s condition. The formulas smoothing powers are thanks to Almond oil and lightweight silicon oil. I use this on damp, towel drier hair but find it works just as well on dry hair.

How perfect do my waves look and can we talk about my hairs dazzling shine?

BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick BB Hydra Pearl R579 for a 100ml

When I attended the launch of the Hyaluronic Moisture Kick range, ALL the beauties were VERY excited to try this particular product. I mean, a BB cream for the hair…what’s not to love? This product is used to add a dose of conditioning hydration to the locks, boost shine AND protect the hair from heat damage cause by hairdryers. The formula is a gel matrix with Hyaluronic acid to rebalance hairs moisture levels and glycerin pearls to add additional moisture. You simply work a little product into towel dried hair and style. I use this formula on days I blow-dry my hair straight.

BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner R332 for a 200ml

I’ve never really been one for spray on conditioners as I found them to mostly be ineffective at untangling my rather thick, wavy hair. Then I tried this one and have to admit it’s probably my favourite product in the range. Aside from the fact that I spend less time in the shower, I love how quickly this lightweight formula works to detangle. You do need to shake the bottle before use, so the 2-phase emulsion can mix. This is a fantastic product for those who don’t like heavy products, or even for those who battle with oily hair. I also find a spritz of this after swimming works wonders to rehydrate the hair and detangle. Come summer, this conditioner will be a regular in my beach survival beauty kit.

BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Conditioner R295 for a 200ml

So, because I love the spray on conditioner (above) SO much, I put off trying this formula. When I did, I was pretty impressed. It lived up to its claims of weightlessly conditioning and rebalancing the hair, leaving it tangle-free, soft and shiny. It also boosts strength and elasticity. It works very well, and is best suited to dry, brittle, coarse, curly, wavy or slightly porous hair.
