Now that I’m a blonde, I thought I’d do a little update on the hair products I’m currently using and really enjoying.
The one thing about going from brunette to blonde is that your hair really does take a knock. Mine has become a lot drier and frizzier, so I need haircare that counteracts this. When I was a brunette, I hardly ever needed conditioner (and I have rather thick hair), but now that I’m blonde, I wouldn’t even be able to run a comb through my hair without lashing of it! I also rely heavily on hair masks and a treatment oil to soften my locks and add shine.
Below are the products I’m currently using and really enjoying
Davines Naturaltech Nourishing Shampoo R345 and Conditioner R445
I’m a big fan of Davines hair products because their formulas are so natural and free of Parabens and sulfates. They also come in the COOLEST packaging and always leave my hair feeling fabulous.
At my last hair appointment, I received the Naturaltech Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner to try – a range recommended for dehydrated scalp and for dry, brittle and damaged hair. Now, I must add that come winter, I ALWAYS suffer with dry scalp, so I need good products that nourish and soothe. This range also contains phytoceuticals extracted from grapes – rich in polyphenols and antioxidants.
A small amount of shampoo goes quite a long way with my mid length hair. I also find the conditioner – that I use on my mid-lengths and ends – is really great at detangling and adding shine to my hair.

PRO:VOKE Touch of Silver Colour Care Shampoo R119.95 and Conditioner R119.95
As a brunette, I never understood what a purple shampoo did or how it worked. It was only when I started going lighter that I realized the brilliance of it. The purple works to get rid of any brassy tones in the hair.
The PRO:VOKE range of shampoo and conditioners are formulated for coloured hair and helps remove brassy tones and brighten and illuminate blonde hair.
I’m finding this range quite indispensable for use between toning and colour treatments. Both products are formulated with antioxidants and optical brighteners.

Hair feels more nourished, smoother, and silkier.
I use this shampoo & conditioner once a week (I usually wash my hair 3 x week) to keep brassiness at bay.

Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe All Blondes Rich Shampoo R330, Conditioner R330 and Mask R380
I like that this range is a real multitasker. Not only does it cleanse and condition, but also replenishes and strengthens hair by rebuilding the inner bond, resulting in a smoother, shinier locks.
The shampoo contains 3D Bond Technology that helps build, strengthen and maintain bonds between salon visits, ensuring hair is healthy and strong. This technology also helps to connect the inner bonds inside the hairs fibre, giving strength, shine and longer lasting colour to chemically processed hair. There is also a Cashmere Protein Complex that conditions the hair fibre while also deeply penetrating the cuticle to lower the risk of breaking and split ends. The shampoo is suitable for daily use, has a pleasant, slightly floral fragrance and lather up quickly.
The deeply nourishing conditioner instantly detangles hair and helps smooth and seal the surface of porous, blonde hair. It improves strength and elasticity, while the Marula oil in the formula adds dazzling shine.
The Mask is a favourite too. It contains the 3D Creation Technology and the Cashmere Protein Complex. It works to build new bonds while intensely nourishing normal and coarse blonde hair. As with most hair masks, you apply it to clean, towel dried hair – mid-lengths and ends only – and leave it on for 5-10 minutes, then rinse off. I use mine twice a week and LOVE it.

Moroccan Oil Treatment R630 (for a 100ml)
An n old favourite I’ve recently rediscovered! This Argan Oil works wonders on a variety of hair types and helps restore bonds and impart protein into the hair fibre. It has a protective and restorative effect and leaves the hair feeling soft, silky and beautifully scented. You can use a few different ways: as a pre-styling aid or post styling to add shine & eliminate fly always. I use only a drop of oil (yes, that’s more than enough for my mid length hair) that I apply to my damp hair – mid lengths and ends only. I’m always astounded at how soft my hair is after using it. And the fragrance, just WOW!
