Flashback to February this year when I visited NYC with Dove to learn more about the brands exciting innovations. When I saw the spectacular Dove DermaSpa collection, my first question to the PR person was “when are we getting this range in South Africa?” Her response, “patience Candice, patience.”
It felt like the longest wait, but finally I’m able to properly introduce you to this gorgeous, very affordable range of body products.
Dove DermaSpa was designed to bring the spa experience into your home, with delightfully luxurious products that help busy women savor those precious (but few) me-time moments. Dove explained how, with DermaSpa, they want to transform women’s body care routines into a meaningful and pleasurable ritual, combining dermatological expertise and the pleasure that comes with spa treatments. How divine?
As with all Dove products, the DermaSpa range is dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin. While this range is all about luxurious pampering, there’s also some seriously advanced innovations contained in the products. Take the Cell-Moisturisers as an example; essentially this is a complex comprised of key moisturising actives compressed from natural seed oils that get to work at the heart of skin cells, leaving them full of moisture.
Silicone Elastomer technology has also been added to give the products a wonderfully tactile silky skin-feel – typical of prestige body products. These Silicone elastomers have an added benefit in that they are also a proven skin protectant.
The DermaSpa Goodness³ collection combines omega oil with Cell-Moisturisers™ which work at the heart of skin cells**, leaving the skin full of moisture. Omega oil, known to replenish the skin’s barrier, is infused in Dove’s active formula to smooth skin’s texture, leaving it velvety soft and even looking. The fragrance includes deliciously indulgent notes of creamy vanilla, succulent coconut and musk for added opulence.
I received the Goodness³ Body Lotion (R89.99 for a 200ml) to try and love how it transformed my skin from dry and scaly into radiant, supple and beautifully nourished.
The Goodness³ Silky Body Oil (R129.99) came with me on my recent beach holiday, and I loved how this silky oil beautifully nourished my skin while imparting a gorgeous, subtle glow.
While it’s really hard to choose a favourite among the DermaSpa range, I’d have to say that the Uplifted+ line really resonates with me because #SummerBody. This range also contains the Cell-MoisturisersTM that provide effective moisture and nourishment, which are key drivers for restoring elasticity and firmness in the skin.
I just love the innovative Uplifted+ Massaging Body Roller-Ball Serum (R129.99) that moisturises and helps improve firmness and elasticity with its gentle massaging action. Use it to help firm up any wobbly bits. I love the cool sensation of the satin-like gel as it revitalizes the skin.
The Uplifted+ Body Lotion (R89.99 for a 200ml) is another favourite. I really like this body lotion that absorbs super quickly, and has a satin-gel feeling. I can see this being a summer favourite as, along with gently moisturising the skin, it also improves skin elasticity and firmness.
Cashmere Comfort is DermaSpa’s most effective and indulgent range for very dry skin. Enriched with Cell-Moisturisers®, it goes beyond basic moisturisation. I tried the Cashmere Comfort Body Butter (R129.99) that offers one an indulgent, nurturing night-time ritual to soothe and soften the skin for extra-intensive care on even the driest parts of the body. I found this beauty to be especially good at relieving dry skin on my knees, elbows and feet. Saying that though, it’s a wonderful night time treat for for the whole body.
