Since the start of the pandemic, I’ve pretty much lived in my activewear.

I started online Pilates classes (read more here) way back in May 2020 and I’m still doing them – 4 x 1-hour classes a week. I also started walking daily (easy when you have a dog) – usually clocking up anywhere between 5 – 10 thousand steps. I have to brag here and say I’ve lost almost 10 kilograms over the past two years.

When I say I live in my activewear, I mean it.

I get up in the morning (and make myself a cup of black coffee without milk or sugar), get into my activewear gear and do a Pilates class (either at 8 or 9am). Because I work mostly from home, I feel it’s silly to get dressed again – unless I have an appointment or launch. Come 3:30pm, I walk with my dog Momo, usually for around 1.5 hours.

Now, with lockdown restrictions easing and the weather warming, we’re seeing how activewear is kinda transitioning back into athleisure. Athleisure as a trend really resonates with me (for obvious reasons) as it allows for flexibility: I can go from my Pilates class to the grocery store and still meet friends for coffee – in one simple outfit.

Now, the challenge for me is finding well made, stylish and reasonably priced athleisure wear and Woolworths have some really great options.

Taking inspiration form the great outdoors, the Woolworths Edition Active SS21 athleisure collection is all about fresh colours, signature prints, tie-dyes, animal prints & playful florals.

You can also mix and match your pieces. With prices ranging from R179 (for a training top) to R399 (for tights), the pricing is right.

The Edition Active range includes Cotton Lycra and Seamless collections. Seamless fabrics have been introduced in plain and rib textures and are designed for ease of movement. Cotton lycra -that’s been sustainably sourced – contains elastane for good stretch and recovery that moves with you.

What are you waiting for? Now is the perfect time to get physical and healthy!
