Carve out some me-time this weekend and treat yourself to some one-on-one with these fabulous finds. I’m crushing hard on beauty products that bring cheer in wintry weather as well as treatment benefits. Ok, I know what you are thinking; how does a nail polish give your treatment side effects? Nail colour makes you feel good, so it has mood boosting powers. Happy?

Neutrogena Anti-ageing Hand Cream SPF25 (R92.95, Clicks)

Neutrogena weekend

As I age, my hands are taking a real hit. They are starting to look more and more like my mom’s as the days go by; wrinkled and dry. This hand cream has a thick consistency and nourishing formula. It’s not tacky though (which I love) and laced with loads of active soy help fight against brown spots that make your hands look even older. And SPF25 is an added bonus and essential as our UV concentration is second highest in the world (Australia has the number one spot).

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil (R295, clarins.co.za)

Clarins lip oil weekend

This is one of Candice-Lee’s favourite lip oils. It illuminates your pout and is a mix of hazelnut oil (for nourishment, plumping and softening), as well as organic jojoba oil (ditto nourishment as well as sheen and soothing).

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist (R346 elizabetharden.co.za)

Arden:weekend

Part of the iconic hydration (and skin all-fixing and healing) Eight Hour range, this facial mist is my handbag essential this season. I’m definitely starting to spray it on this weekend as it’s a superfruit blend, rich in antioxidants and vitamins and promises to leave skin feeling reinvigorated and looking healthy. Mist in the morning, post-sweat, pre touch-up or before you go to bed. Yay to that!

Essie Nail Colour in Maki Me Happy (R129.95, Dis-Chem)

Essie:weekend

Red is always a classic (basically, you can never go wrong). If you don’t have an updated shade in your collection, this is the newbie to go for. It’s a creamy red and slightly deeper than summer hues that are slightly orange-based or tomato shades. Wear on short nails – pretty please?

Filorga Optim-Eyes Lotion (R335, skinmiles.com)

Filorga:weekend

What a clever product invention! This is a eye make up remover serum. I am buzzing with excitement. And it’s a great excuse to brave the cold weather, slap on a liquid eye liner and go out for the evening, just to come home and whisk it off with this clever baby.

It’s a three-phase product and this is how it works:  the two-phase make-up removal is an oleo-clean complex that instantly removes all eye make-up (yes, even waterproof). And next up is the serum phase. This is a stimulating peptide to reduce the signs of fatigue with each application as well as a protein booster that makes lashes stronger. I’m sold!

Happy weekend y’all!
