The current heat wave we’re having in South Africa calls for casual and cool dressing. A few weeks back I popped into Desray – one of my favourite local designer stores – and found this super cool and colourful kaftan dress that retails for R850 (currently in stores, so hurry if you want one!)

Even though it has three quarter sleeves (that hides any upper arm issues), it keeps me cool on those hot and sweltering days. I love that it has pockets and a Chinese collar design that you can either tie or leave open.
The striking pattern and colour combination of pink, salmon, turquoise, white and black makes for an eye-catching look.
Because the hemline sits just above the knee, I prefer to wear it with flat sandals, although a pair of espadrilles or wedge heels would also work. The white leather sandals I’m wearing are by local, Durban based Jane Sews (I’m OBSESSED with their clothing and accessories) and cost R799. They are SO worth that price as not only are they locally made, but the workmanship & quality is beyond amazing. You can purchase them HERE.
