The Garnier Ultimate Blends range launched in SA earlier this year. After just a few months on the market, it is fast becoming a favourite amongst women. I, for one, love the range as it contains lightweight oils and high performance extracts. The products are crafted with indulgent textures and divine fragrances (that aren’t too overpowering). No matter what your hair type or concern, you’ll find products designed to suit your needs.
IF YOU COLOUR OR HIGHLIGHT YOUR HAIR
Garnier Ultimate Blends ‘The colour illuminator cranberry & Argan’ is the range best suited for my hair as I regularly colour it. It’s also great for highlighted hair. It works to nourish and protect the hair while boosting colour radiance. The formula is made up using a blend of Argan oil from Morocco with Cranberry extracts from North America. Argan oil works to smooth and nourish the hair, while cranberry, an antioxidant, protects it from the onslaught of environmental aggressors.
The colour illuminator shampoo (R39.95 for a 250ml or R59.95 for a 400ml) was a joy to use. I loved the fruity fragrance and gentle lather. Two washes with a small amount of shampoo left my hair looking and feeling clean and soft. The colour illuminator conditioner (R39.95 for a 250ml or R59.95 for a 400ml) was great at detangling and I found I only needed a small quantity to do the job. The colour illuminator Balm (69.95 for a 300ml tub) is my favourite product of this range. I use it twice a week in place of conditioner to deeply nourish my hair and boost shine. It also leaves my hair so soft and silky.
IF YOU HAVE DRY, FRIZZY HAIR
Garnier Ultimate Blends ‘The Sleek Restorer coconut oil & cocoa butter’ range is perfect for dry and frizzy hair. It’s crafted with a powerful blend of pure coconut oil, which works to smooth the hair. Cocoa Butter, has been added for its intense nourishing properties. The range works to clean the hair, leaving it smooth and shiny.
I’d recommend it for those that have very curly hair that’s needs moisture. These velvety formulas weightlessly nourish the hair while taming frizz and fly- aways.

My tester loved all the products in ‘The Sleek Perfector ’ range, but made a special mention of the Sleek Restorer Perfector Oil. She liked how you could use it in various ways:
1. Before washing to pre nourish for added suppleness.
2. Before styling to protect from damage.
3. After styling to tame and frizz or fly-aways.
4. Between washes to boost shine.
IF YOU HAVE VERY DRY OR DAMAGED HAIR
Ultimate Blends ‘The nourishing repairer avocado & shea butter’ range works to hydrate even the driest of hair. Crafted with shea butter and avocado oil, it nourishes from root to tip. These two ingredients work nourish hair while reinforcing its natural barrier.
The range consists of a shampoo (R39.95 for a 250ml or R59.95 for a 400ml), conditioner (R39.95 for a 250ml or R59.95 for a 400ml) and a balm (69.95 for a 300ml tub). Again, my tester had only good things to say. She commented on the amazing smell of all the products in the range, but said her favourite product was the balm. “ I was amazed at just how soft and my hair felt after using this.”
IF YOU HAVE DAMAGED HAIR PRONE TO BREAKAGE
If you’ve been unkind to your hair, subjecting it to chemical processes like bleaching or relaxing, then ‘The Strength Restorer honey treasures’ range is for you. Created especially for hair prone to breakage, it contains a transformative blend of 3 luxurious treasures from the beehive:
1. Enriching honey for its nourishing properties

My tester loved all the products in this range and said she actually couldn’t single one out as a favourite. She said she’d invest in the whole range again, as she saw a noticeable improvement in her very fragile and dry hair.
