The house of Boucheron was founded in 1858 by Frederic Boucheron and is best known for their beautifully crafted and very high-end jewellery. In 1893, Frederic Boucheron became the first jeweler in Paris to move to Place Vendome, where Boucheron remains today.

Legend has it that he chose 26 Place Vendome as it was the sunniest corner on the square. He believed that the diamonds in the windows would sparkle more brilliantly in this location.

Boucheron made its foray into fine fragrance in 1988 with the launch of the women’s fragrance, Boucheron. The now iconic ring shaped bottle takes its inspiration from a rock crystal ring, embellished with golden gadroons and a deep blue cabochon top. This classic and timeless fragrance is still as relevant and contemporary today as it was 28 years ago – few fragrances can claim that, I might add.

Boucheron Eau De Parfum
Boucheron Eau De Parfum is classified as a “Floriental” (floral & oriental notes) scent. It opens with sparkling notes of mandarin and delicate orange blossom. Heart notes of jasmine, ylang-ylang, tuberose and daffodil bring a vibrant luminosity to the scent. The woody drydown is warm and enveloping and includes notes of vanilla, amber and sandalwood that give it voluptuous, oriental signature.

Boucheron Pour Homme
Boucheron Pour Homme, launched in 1991, is an elegant aromatic scent. It opens with fresh, citrus notes of verbena and bergamot. As it develops, the heart note of basil and coriander blend with while rose and ylang-ylang. The dry down has a warm, woody trail thanks to vetiver, patchouli, moss, sandalwood and carnal musk.

Boucheron Quatre
Last year, Boucheron launched a new fragrance line called Quatre – a modern and daring olfactory interpretation of the jewellery house’s iconic Quatre ring. The upper part of the flacon is a replica of the ring design and there is a unique on/off rotating system that ensures the rings on top are never removed from the bottle.

Quatre Eau De Parfum
Quatre for women is a fresh, sophisticated and beautifully subtle scent that is perfect for any occasion. The top notes sparkle with bubbles of bitter orange, wild strawberries and a hint of red currant. The heart notes are those of timeless rose and jasmine, giving the scent a wonderful fullness. A new ingredient called ‘Petalia’ releases a scent of rose flower powder with a touch of lychee. The final accord comes from woods, enhanced with sensual musk and captivating cedar.
The juice is best described a fruity floral with woody undertones, but it also has a wonderful full-bodied powdery rose scent with a hint of sparkle.

Quatre for men
Quatre for men rates among one of my top male scents. I simply adore this elegant woody fragrance. It is for the daring, urban, active man that’s keen to discover new things. I love the fresh, zesty opening notes of lime and lemon combined with violet leaves. The heart combines notes of jasmine and rose, while the base contains mainly woody notes of cashmere and cedar with a hint of sexy musk.
