It had to happen, in fact, I couldn’t believe it took so long. Finally, the iconic Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour franchise has launched their all-over body oil.
Providing luxurious, head-to-toe conditioning benefits to the body, face and hair and clinically proven to moisturise for 8-12 hours, Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil, R385, is a real beauty all rounder.
This moisturising and conditioning oil for body, face and hair contains Tsubaki Oil that’s derived from the Camellia flower. The oil contains a high concentration of Omega oils that nourish, soothe and protect the skin while boosting the skin’s natural collagen, thereby smoothing skin and improving its texture.
Also included to in the formula is grape seed oil that nourishes and conditions skin, ginger root extract, to improve skin’s texture and tone and boswellia resin that helps firm the skin while soothing any irritation and redness. Vitamin E further conditions the skin, and because it’s a great antioxidant, protects against free radical damage. Olive, avocado and sunflower oils and rosemary extract have also been added to intensely moisturise the skin. The oil is delicately scented with the light, citrus floral fragrance of green apple, Lily of the Valley, rose and magnolia.
I like that the Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil can be used all over the body.
- For the face: Mist a thin layer onto clean skin and lightly massage in an upward circular motion.
- For the body: Starting about 10 centimeters away from the skin, mist formula onto the body and massage until fully absorbed. Like liquid silk, this fine oil penetrates deeply within the skin and will lock in moisture. I find it works best on slightly damp skin.
- For the hair: A light mist can be smoothed into damp or dry hair, to impart hair with a glossy shine, without leaving behind a greasy residue. After application, blow dry and style as usual.

And of course, how could I not mention the iconic Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, R225, now available in a fragrance free version? This legendary beauty balm can be used to moisturise lips, cuticles, soothe dry hands, peeling or flaking, sunburn, windburn and scrapes. It’s also great at shaping brows. I’m NEVER without a tube and you shouldn’t be either!
I also like the Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15, R195, that comes in a handy portable stick. It’s enriched with emollients, protective sunscreen and vitamin E. Lightly tinted options are also available. The Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair, R225, is a rich gel that comes in a pot and helps strengthen the lips moisture barrier.
