Choosing a face wash and moisturiser is always a challenge for me. Either I find that because I enjoy a product, I’m too scared to try something new. Or, I’m intimidated by how many excellent options there are available, so stick to what I know. It’s just my luck then that I was asked to try and review Johnson’s newest skincare line.
The “Hydration Essentials” range by Johnson’s works to boost hydration levels in the skin without leaving it oily. It’s formulated with ocean minerals and vitamins that lock in moisture, making it ideal for my combination, dehydrated skin. To be honest, it was the pretty packaging that initially drew me in, but it’s the revitalising results and refreshing quality that made fall head over heels with this range. I think it’s perfect for younger skin’s.
I find a lot of skincare products available tend to be a bit too intense for my skin. Sometimes, even products specifically designed for combination skin tend to cling to my face, making it feel greasy. However, that was so not the case with these beauties.
2-in-1 Facial gel/mask R59,95
This product can either be used as a moisturising facial gel, or a mask. I used it every morning and evening to hydrate and nourish my skin. I like that it doesn’t leave behind a greasy or sticky film, and is absorbed really quickly. I really enjoy it’s light texture and very subtle scent! You can also use it as a mask, (every fortnight), to provide a deep boost of moisture. Simply apply it to the skin in a thick layer and rinse off after 3 minutes.
Cleansing Wipes R47,95
These easy-to-use wipes are alcohol-free, and effectively remove make-up while nourishing the skin. I really liked their soft texture and subtle smell. They’re ideal for those nights where you’re just too tired to wash your face!
Facial Cleanser R47.99
I love this facial wash! It leaves my skin feeling purified, fresh, clean and comfortable. Only a small amount is needed to work up a rich (but gentle) lather. Paired with the 2-in-1 Facial Gel/Mask, my skin feels refreshed and hydrated after the routine. They don’t call it “Hydration Essentials” for nothing – these products are essential for healthy, hydrated skin!
Because I’m a student, I can’t afford to spend huge amounts of money (or time) on skincare. I’m not uninterested in my skin, though, and still want an option that, while uncomplicated, works! So, this back-to-basics regime is perfect for me and for anybody looking for fresh and healthy skin.
