I’m so impressed with the utterly gorgeous L’Oreal Paris L’OR Lumiere make-up collection – a range of make-up that’s infused with light and an irresistible aura of glamour. The Colour Riche Mono eye Shadows, R99.95 each, and the Lumi Magique Pearl Powder, R159.99 are infused with gel technology that gives the products an amazing glide.
The lovely Sylvie Hurford, L’Oreal Paris make-up designer for South Africa says the best way to use these shadows are by applying them with your fingertips, directly above the iris on the ‘bulb’ of the eye, to open the area and bring a gorgeous lightness to the eye. They can be used alone, or combined to create a striking look. Because of their gel feel, they apply easily and stay put. These eye shadows are flexible and move with the eyelid, without creasing to create a beautiful iridescent finish that lasts all day.
The Lumi Magique Pearl Powder (limited edition) should be applied onto the face in much the same way one would apply a bronzer. Using a big powder or Kabuki brush, gently dust this luminescent powder onto the face in the shape of an 8.
To compliment the look, Sylvie suggests coating the nails with the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche le Vernis in ‘Sheer Gold’ R58.95. This limited edition grey/bronze shade is subtle yet sexy and brings a pretty iridescence to fingers and toes.
To get the perfect finish, Sylvie says it’s important to make sure your nails are perfectly clean. “Hand cream and residual moisture from the day can cause varnish to chip or peel. Clean them carefully with an acetone remover before applying varnish”, says Sylvie.
When it comes to lashes, Sylvie loves the Volume Million Lashes, R179.95. She explains it’s the perfect combination of formula and brush and says two coats are all one needs. To get an expert finish on lashes, Sylvie suggests the following:
“If your lashes are short and curl backwards, apply the mascara from the top of the lashes downwards to separate and lengthen the lash fringe.”
