GOSH recently sent me some seriously amazing make-up to play around with. Now, I’ve long been a fan of the brand, and you can read my previous posts about my favourites items ( hint: I LOVE their make-up brushes) HERE and HERE. Also important to mention is that GOSH don’t test on animals, and I was pleased to discover that quite a few of their products are now Vegan friendly too – meaning they do not contain any ingredients or derivatives of animal origin (you can check out the list HERE).
These GOSH Forever Eye Shadow Metallic Sticks are my BEST!
Oh my word, talk about easy to use with a brilliant colour payoff! I’m totally in love with these soft, creamy and super bendable Forever Eye Shadow Sticks above (R160) that set on the lid with an even, sparkly finish and last for hours. There’s no need to use brushes to blend as fingertips do the trick just perfectly. There are eight super cool metallic shades available – my three favourites being the 06 Plum, 08 Green and the 02 beige – which look great on their own as shadows and also work well as liners. They’re great for evening when you want to play up your eyes, but are pressed for time.
The GOSH Forever Eye Shadow Matt (R160) collection has four very wearable colours that apply smoothly, blend easily and last for up to 8 hours. Again, they are easy to apply and can be used to shade, define or smoke up eyes – all rather effortlessly, I might add. I was also impressed at how there was no creasing, flaking or fading (and I didn’t even use an eye shadow primer). My two favourite shades are the 10 Twisted brown and the 12 Dark Grey which work well to create a basic smokey eye.
I got to play with two colours from the Velvet Touch Matt Lipstick (R140) collection, namely the Classic Red 005 and Cranberry 014. Even though they are matt, the creamy texture of these lippes delivers an even and long-lasting intense, pure colour payoff. For the evening look I created (scroll down), I applied a bit of the Cranberry onto my finger tip and pressed the formula into my lips to give it a sexier, slightly worn-in less perfect look.
The GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Nude 162 (R140) really is a lovely creamy nude shade that contains Vitamin E to protect and nourish lips. I love wearing it for day as it adds just a hint of sheen and nude colour to my lips.
It’s only recently that I’ve become a fan of primers. I find they not only ensure my foundation lasts longer, but the correct formulas really help with filling in fine lines, smoothing my skin and keeping excess shine under control. The GOSH Primer Plus + Illuminating Skin Perfector (R255) works to even skin tone, smooth pores, extend the wear of your make-up, while reducing imperfections and giving the skin a luminous natural glow. The primer has a light beige tint, and I love how quickly it absorbs into my skin, leaving it looking brighter and more even toned. It does has a bit of shimmer, but it’s nothing too full on.
Catchy Eyes Mascara (R155) has been a favourite of mine for a while now because it lengthens, defines and separates my lashes, as oppose to giving them that fat, fake lash look (which is great for evening, but a bit full on for day). The curved rubber brush craetes a bit of a cat eye effect, which works wonders to open the eyes. The formula does not clump and is relatively easy to remove with a regular eye makeup remover.
If you’re keen on bold and dramatic liner, then do give the GOSH Giant Pro Liner (R185) a try. It’s quite easy to use thanks to its pointed tip that allows for precise application. This fluid eyeliner comes in a marker form and works so well to define the eyes with its delicate, weightless and intense film that doesn’t feather out or smudge.
