Did you know that improving your state of mind may help support your skin treatment results? I guess it kinda makes sense if you think about it. We know that stress negatively affects our health, however recent research has revealed that stress can also have positive effects like making us more alert, focused and energized.

This beneficial outlook on stress is referred to as Eustress and is defined as a healthy cognitive response to stress that gives one a feeling of fulfillment or other positive feelings. Eustress is able to motivate, improve performance and focus our energy. So, while stress might typically be characterised by pressure at work or racing against the clock, stress can also be the invisible force that compels us to dare, love, save lives, and, in short, to care.

On the other hand, Distress – or negative stress, causes anxiety, feels unpleasant and decreases performance. This kind of stress often leads to exhaustion and ill health.

It was these findings that lead the skin health experts at Dermalogica to take a more positive outlook on stress, and formulate the new Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift (R1210). This fast acting treat visibly energises the delicate eye area, while reducing the typical signs of skin under stress that include:

  • Dehydration
  • Fine lines
  • Puffiness
  • Dark circles (which can also be hereditary)
  • Free radical damage
  • Weakened skin barrier

Dermalogica Positive Stress Eye Lift treatment masque minimizes the appearance of puffiness and dark circles, increases skin luminosity and visibly firms skin to create a lifting effect.

Ingredient wise, it contains the following:

  • Wild Indigo seed to brighten dark under eye areas and reduce circles
  • Sea Water Extract and Arctic Algae work to de-puff
  • Fermented yeast and Hyaluronic Acid help give the skin a lifted effect
  • Bioactive Diglucosyl Gallic Acid works with your skin’s natural microbiome to brighten and energize the eye area.

I like using mine in the morning, (when dark circles and puffiness are at their worst), but you can also use it in the evening after cleansing the skin. You could also apply it over makeup for extra luminosity. After applying Stress Positive Eye Lift using the Eye Lift DIY (which I might add I’ve proper perfected – video below), I leave the product on for around 3 minutes. I then massage any excess cream into my skin (you could also tissue it off).

You can use stress positive eye lift daily (like I do) or as needed for a brightening boost. Like all Dermalogica products, this treat for the eyes is formulated without artificial fragrance, colours or parabens – making it suitable for all skin types, even sensitive.

As with all Dermalogica products, the new Stress Positive Eye Lift fits in seamlessly with my current regime.

I love the way the cooling massage applicator feels on my skin. In essence, it assists with drainage around the eye area, getting rid of puffiness and dark circles very effectively.
