The world’s first ever treatment fragrance, Clarins Eau Dynamisante, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Eau Dynamisante truly was a trailblazer of a scent, and was the world’s first treatment fragrance. It combined the principles of aromatherapy and phytotherapy (plant therapy) while hydrating, refreshing and toning the skin.
Launched in 1987, Eau Dynamisante – with it’s refreshing, citrus personality and 14 aromatherapeutic plant extracts and essential oils – remains a product firmly entrenched in the ‘cult’ beauty category.
The Notes
The top notes of the scent include orange, coriander, petitgrain, caraway and amalfi lemon, giving it a very crisp, sharp and fresh opening. The woody, slightly spicy note comes from the coriander, while the caraway adds a light, slightly sweet and spicy vibe. The lush greenness I love so much comes from the petitgrain. A cardamom middle note lends a sweet and lightly spicy essence, while rosemary and thyme gives the scent a herbaceous aroma. As the fragrance settles, the base note of patchouli comes through, giving the juice a creamy, sweet earthiness as it begins to fade.
Because of it’s woody, citrus personality, Eau Dynamisante falls into unisex category – and is often referred to as quite a masculine scent. My hubby loves it, as do I. The teen also just gave it a whiff and nodded in approval (best I start hiding my bottle).
What is a treatment fragrance?
A combination of a perfume with the treatment power of plants in accordance with the principles of aromatherapy and phytotherapy.
Eau Dynamisante contains Ginseng extract that’s been added to energize and revitalize, and aloe vera and horsetail to soften and tone the skin. In a single spritz, this scent hydrates and tones. And, because of its photosensitizing formula, it can be safely used in the sun.
How to use it:
Rub it vigorously over all parts of the body after you shower, or simply spritz it on like a traditional fragrance.
