Caring for mature skin requires understanding its special needs. When our skin ages, it undergoes structural changes. When Candice first gave me the new Eucerin Elasticity + Filler range to try, I was super excited. While I do believe that my skin looks great for its age, my most pressing concerns include sagging, wrinkles and a general lack of radiance. Other than a little mascara, I don’t really wear makeup, so my skincare really needs to show good, visible results.
I have quite a sensitive skin and have had issues with other products in the past, so I’m quite discerning when choosing a skincare range. I like the Eucerin brand, as it’s one my dermatologist recommends.
Like most women, I started using the range without reading how to apply the products. I unpacked them onto my bathroom cabinet, and threw the boxes and pamphlets inside them away. After a week, I called Candice to ask her to explain exactly how I should be using the products. After telling her that I was mixing the oil with the day and night creams, then applying it to my face (you know, to save time), she told me I was using them incorrectly! I was supposed to apply a few drops of oil to my face after cleansing, and then apply either the day or night cream – not mix the two together!

When I started using the range correctly, I immediately saw fantastic results – after just 3 days!
First, I apply a few drops (about 4) of oil onto my hands, pressing it into my skin, avoiding the eye area. Eucerin Elasticity + Filler Facial Oil (R399.99 for 30ml) is proven to improve the skin’s elasticity and support resilience. The formula contains Argan Oil and Lady’s Thistle Oil to smooth the skin, while boosting regeneration. Vitamin E – a potent antioxidant – fights oxidative stress, and protects the skin, leaving it soft and nourished. I apply this facial oil twice daily to my face, neck and décolleté areas: once in the morning before applying the Eucerin Elasticity + Filler Day Cream, and then again in the evening – before massaging the Elasticity + Filler Night Cream gently into the skin.
I then apply the Eucerin Elasticity + Filler Day Care (R349.99 for 50ml). It’s formulated with a potent combination of active ingredients that work deeply within the skin to strengthen its structure, ensuring skin looks firmer, fresh and radiant. The formula contains Arctiin to encourage collagen production, Silymarin that protects collagen and elastin from oxidative stress, Hyaluronic Acid to plump lines and wrinkles and an SPF 15 to protect the skin from UV rays.
Since I’ve started using the products correctly, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skins moisture levels. I’ve realised that the older I get, the drier my skin has become. I especially feel this when I wake up in the morning, but since using this range, it no longer feels so parched. My skin also feels a lot smoother, and my lines and wrinkles look less prominent – now that my skin isn’t so dry.
Come nighttime, after applying the facial oil, I apply Eucerin Elasticity + Filler Night Care (R349.99 for 50ml). Again the formula contains Arctiin, Silymarin and Hyaluronic Acid. In addition to this age busting combination, Argan Oil and Panthenol have also been added. Argan Oil contains up to 80% essential fatty acids (Omega 6 and 9) that are important for regulation and maintenance of skin functions. Research shows that it’s a powerful anti-inflammatory and makes skin smoother and softer.
I really like the texture of both the day and night creams because they spread beautifully, and really hydrate my skin. I make sure I apply all the products onto my neck and décolletage area too, as it is here that most of my sun damage is evident.
I would certainly recommend this range to my friends and will most definitely purchase it again. I also like that the packaging looks high end – given its reasonable price – and I enjoyed the very subtle, but comforting smell of products. It’s also been recommended that I try the Eucerin Dermatoclean Mild Cleansing Milk and Dermatoclean Clarifying Toner with the range. And, while the Elasticity + Filler Day Care does have a SPF 15 for day to day protection, I’ll be adding the Eucerin Sun Creme Tinted CC (available in light & Medium) with SPF 50+ to my daily skincare regime, for extra protection from the sun’s harsh rays.”
