This gorgeous striped jumpsuit is by KLUKCGDT – It’s part of the new collection and I’ll add the price as soon a I have it. The sunnies (R2593) are by Prada.
I cannot tell you how busy I’ve been for the past few months! Between my freelance writing, fashion shoot styling, blogging and speaker events, I’ve hardly had time to catch my breath. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. As a freelancer, ‘busy’ is good. However, I’m so looking forward to a break.
Yesterday I did an amazing fashion shoot at the One&Only in Cape Town – one of my favourite hotels. It was for the March 2015 issue of Sawubona SAA Magazine and the theme was ‘resort wear’.
- Top left: The newly revamped Vista Lounge at the One&Only Cape Town.
- Top right: The gorgeous outdoor area at the Vista Lounge.
- Bottom left: View from our room on the 4th floor of the hotel.
- Bottom right: The Vista Lounge – I just LOVE the giant floor lamps.
How beautiful was my model? Her name is Rachel Validum – she’s American and is represented by Fusion Models locally. I just love her exotic look. Super, super sweet girl too.
I snapped a few stills of some of my favourite accessories.
- Top left: Sandals with turquoise stone R3400, Neo at the One&Only.
- Top Right: ‘Halo’ Gold and diamond ring, R6500 ‘Why’ at Uwe Koetter – BUY IT HERE
- Bottom left: Chloe sunglasses by Moscon Optics.
- Botton right: Beaded cuffs, R550 each Neo at the One&Only.
My favourite look of the day was this jumpsuit by ‘Afrodizzy’ (R595) available on spree.co.za – buy it here. The necklace is by Kirsten Goss and costs R4250.
I’m in love with this canvas Missibaba shopper. It retails for R900 and is really roomy.
LOVE these leather cuffs. They’re by Dutch brand Yaya, and are available at Stuttafords and Madison Boutique at the Constantia Courtyard. I don’t have a price just yet, but will add it later today when the PR get’s back to me.
Neo, the clothing boutique at the One&Only now stock Missoni Kaftans and bikinis. We were all drooling over this bikini. I’m waiting on a price, but I reckon it’s going to be SUPER expensive.
When you work with a great team, half the battle is won and the day runs smoothly.
Top left: I often use Merle Titus for hair on my shoots – she’s an industry legend and can whip up the most incredible hairstyle in under 10 minutes.
Top right: My right hand, Cath Zac of Cat & Lilly blog just ‘gets’ me and understands perfectly well when I say things like, “get me that thingy from the dodaah and put it on the ummm….” Cath is not mad for having her photo taken and I can’t actually believe I got a smile out of her.
Bottom left: Obviously in between shots, most of my team are on their phones.
Bottom right: Then there’s Melissa van Zyl, arguably one of the best (and nicest) make-up artists in the industry. Her make-up is flawless and she’s such a joy to be around. She’s absolutely gorgeous and if she looks familiar, it’s because you’ve most likely see her on billboards for Queenspark, Spree or Edgars. When she’s not doing make-up, she’s a fuller figure model.
Big thanks to my brilliant team who gave their all to produce what is really a stunning shoot.
