Divine Youth oil

I’m super excited that L’Occitane have added a facial oil to their Divine Immortelle range of skincare. The Immortelle Divine Youth Oil, (R1425 – buy it here) is made using seven plant oils: Borage, evening primrose, camelina, echium, sea buckthorn, apricot and rose hip. These oils were selected because they have a perfect affinity with the skin. Rich in Omega 9, they also contain essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6) and are known for their soothing and regenerating properties, as well as their ability to protect the skin’s barrier function.

All the oils above have been combined with the organic immortelle essential oil. The Immortelle flower is grown exclusively for L’Occitane on the island of Corsica. This extraordinary flower never dies – even once it’s been picked. The immortelle flower also has exceptional anti-aging properties and is the hero ingredient for the whole Divine Immortelle skincare line.

As we age, cell regeneration slows down and the skin’s barrier function is weakened. Stress and external elements like pollution and UV exposure start taking their toll. With less protection, the skin can become drier and signs of ageing become more visible. This oil helps smooth the skin while improving suppleness. It promises to restore, plump and nourish while combatting fine lines and wrinkles.

BUT…. the performance of this product relies on an application technique to truly bring out it’s effectiveness. Don’t worry, it’s not difficult and I find it to be quite relaxing. Here’s a how-to video:

To be honest, I’ve only been using the oil for the past five days, but already my skin looks radiant and plump. I really like the light texture of the oil that sinks into my skin relatively quickly, leaving a silky, non-oily finish.

This facial oil can be used daily, before your moisturiser or once a week, in the evening as a booster treatment. If you choose to do so, apply two drops of the oil; place a warm towel over your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Then, remove any remaining oil with a towel. The essential nutrients will saturate your skin, leaving it visible smoothed and plumped.

While I’ve been using mine daily, last night I used it as a booster and can’t believe how amazing my skin feels this morning. I’m sitting here typing away and marveling at just how smooth and silky my skin feels.

Below is a vlog I did on the Divine Youth Oil – enjoy.
