Aqua di Gioia 2

Spacial thanks to my beauty ‘assistants’ Miyo Jade & Helen, for helping me get this shot while standing in crashing waves on Clifton yesterday.

Now that warmer days are upon us, I’m really enjoying wearing Giorgio Armani’s newish (it launched in March this year) Acqua di Gioia eau Fraiche. Inspired by a delicate sea breeze, gentle rains and soft green leaves, this new interpretation is fresh, uplifting and perfect for hot, balmy days. It falls into the ‘aquatic floral’ fragrance category.

I love the pronounced oceanic notes that work so beautifully with zingy grapefruit, mandarin peel, aquatic jasmine and Ylang-Ylang. The musks, cedarwood and a brown sugar accord in the dry down give this scent a sexy but subtle appeal.

Acqua di Gioia eau Fraiche is an easy wearing, transparent and summery fragrance that I think will resonate with a lot of women. It’s not overpowering in any way, so would work well as an everyday summer scent.

My only gripe is that while it says it’s an eau de parfum, I think it’s more like a cologne – in terms of longevity. So, if you’re wearing it, be sure to pop the bottle into your bag so you can spritz the scent throughout the day.

Aqua di Gioia eau Fraiche retails for:

  • R714 for a 30ml EDP
  • R879 for a 50ml EDP
