I’m beyond thrilled that the much-anticipated mechanical cleansing brushes are finally going to be available in South Africa.

Yep, this September, two of the biggies are launching locally. I’ll be attending the Clarisonic launch on Thursday this week (I know, it’s finally here!) and, for the past week, have been testing the Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing System. I hear that Clinique are also launching a mechanical cleansing brush, but I’m not sure if will be available locally.

Today I’m going to be telling you about the innovative and affordable Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing System. This electronic cleansing device is designed to effectively loosen, lift and swirl dirt away. It cleanses, exfoliates and reveals a brighter, smoother skin.

This brilliant beauty tool features a micro-massaging action that removes long-wearing makeup without the use of a make-up remover. And I mean remove – like PROPER! It is also super gentle on the skin – in fact, I think even very sensitive skin types will be able to use it. The two-speed rotating system features a brush head that revolves at 350 times per minute. The first speed is very, very gentle. I prefer the second, which really leaves my skin feel clean. Because the device cleans skin so thoroughly, it helps the anti-aging products you use after to penetrate the skin up to 30% more effectively.

The ergonomic design ensures the device is easy to hold and control. I love the gentle cleansing action on my skin, and the fact that I can actually feel it cleaning around my nostrils and on my hairline. I’ve only been using mine for a week now, but already my skin looks brighter and smoother. At R334.99, I think the Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing System is great value for money.  Also, this tool comes in a pack with a small trial size (20ml) Olay Regenerist Skin Perfecting Cleanser.

It’s really simple to use too. After you’ve inserted the batteries (they come with the product), you install the brush head by pressing it onto the connection pin until it locks into position with a click.

For everyday use, dampen the brush with a little water and gently move it around your face for a minute, avoiding the eye area. You then rinse the brush head with water. This nifty device can also be used in the shower – just don’t submerge it in water! The brush head last’s for about 3 months. As soon as you notice the bristles looking a little worn, it’s time to get a replacement. Unfortunately I don’t have an amount as yet, but it should cost under R100.

I’m a fan and highly recommend this facial cleansing tool. It’s great for all skin types, but I think those with oily skins that suffer from breakouts will see the most incredible benefits.

The Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleansing System will hit the shelve mid to end September and will be available at Clicks, DisChem and Foschini stores nationwide.
