If you’re looking to turn your chilly Cape Town Sundays into something extraordinary, The Pot Luck Club’s Sunday Brunch Winter Extravaganza should be high on your list. I had the pleasure of experiencing it first-hand, and let me tell you—it’s every bit as indulgent as it sounds.

Priced at R1250 per person, this all-inclusive feast delivers a 10-course set menu, bottomless bubbly, and the city’s most celebrated Bloody Mary bar. Whether you’re a brunch purist or an adventurous foodie, this is more than just a meal—it’s an event.

Executive Chef Jason Kosmas describes it best: “Our Sunday brunch is designed to deliver a completely unique Pot Luck experience. Guests can just sit back, relax, and let us take care of their culinary journey.”
First things first: the drinks.

You’ll be welcomed with a choice of bottomless Graham Beck Brut or Rosé Cap Classiques—both crisp, elegant, and the perfect pairing for the flavourful plates ahead. Prefer your bubbles with a kick? Head to the DIY Bloody Mary station where you can personalise your concoction with house-infused vodkas, Worcestershire pearls, bacon sticks, and more. It’s practically a meal in itself and a favourite among locals.
And now, the food.
The menu is a series of snack-sized masterpieces. Things kick off with oysters topped with trout roe and a spicy dressing—a fresh and briny bite to awaken the senses.

That’s followed by cornbread with lobster and chipotle pico de gallo, then a decadent brioche with quail egg, mushroom duxelles and truffle-infused porcini hollandaise.

A venison tartare with raisin and hazelnut XO brings boldness to the plate.

The Pot Luck spin on a classic smoked haddock omelette (a nod to the Arnold Bennett) is just the kind of comforting creativity we’ve come to expect from Kosmas and team.

A rich, seasonal risotto follows, leading perfectly into the main event.
The centrepiece? A family-style roast lamb.

Presented with an array of ever-changing seasonal sides, it’s designed for leisurely sharing and relaxed conversation.

As Kosmas puts it, “By this stage, guests should feel like they’re enjoying a laid-back Sunday lunch—chatting, helping themselves, coming back for seconds.”
And just when you think you can’t fit another bite, the dessert trio arrives: a delicate sourdough and chamomile madeleine, strawberries and cream with a twist, and a playful selection of sweets from the pastry kitchen that brings the brunch to a close on a high note.
