I recently attended the launch of Luce di Rosa by Acqua di Parma. This exclusive event, held at Skin’s in the V&A waterfront in Cape Town, encompassed everything the brand is about: discreet luxury, refinement and elegance.
Acqua di Parma’s newest fragrance, Luce di Rosa, is a radiant addition to its Signatures of the Sun collection, which celebrates the beauty of contrasting ingredients.
With a composition that blends the boldness of modernity with the sophistication of tradition, Luce di Rosa captures the essence of the rose in a way that is both luminous and complex. This gender-neutral scent is a masterpiece of balance, where the delicate, dynamic rose is paired with a mineral sharpness that creates a striking chiaroscuro effect—light and dark notes playing in perfect harmony. It’s like a symphony in a bottle, alternating between soft and bold, slow and fast, with each moment revealing something new.
The fragrance opens with a burst of citrus, combining bergamot and mandarin for a bright, energizing start. This fresh introduction is layered with the spicy vibrancy of black and pink pepper, along with a touch of cardamom, creating a sparkling, multifaceted top note. At its heart, Luce di Rosa blooms with Bulgarian Rose, the star of the composition, known for its intense, fresh fragrance. This rich floral note is beautifully balanced with the green, slightly earthy tones of geranium, creating a lush, full-bodied heart that feels both natural and refined.
In the base, the fragrance deepens with warm, grounding notes of vetiver, guaiac wood, and cedarwood, all softened by the sensual presence of musk. The result is a fragrance that evolves over time, revealing new layers and sensations with each wear.
The Bulgarian Rose used in Luce di Rosa is harvested from the renowned Kazanlak region, where the roses are steam-distilled to preserve their vibrant, floral, and honeyed essence. This luxurious ingredient is a favorite in perfumery for its complex, captivating scent—a true testament to the artistry of Acqua di Parma.
Luce di Rosa is more than just a fragrance; it’s a sensory journey—a beautiful blend of light and shadow, freshness and depth, that will captivate your senses from start to finish.
