This post is long overdue!

I’m always being asked what my absolute favourite budget beauty buys are. Well here they are. These are products that I personally love and use. They are all priced REALLY competitively, given how exceptionally well they perform.

The Avène Dermabsolu Recontouring Mask R585 BUY, is a wonderful treat for mature skin types that works to firm and re-densify the skin while hydrating & boosting radiance.

The sublime cream-in-gel texture is rich in Avène Thermal Spring Water & contains Pro Vitamin C to boost collagen production & unify the skin complexion. Sytenol helps support lax skin while Glycoléol intensely nourishes.

I use it 1-3 times a week, usually in the evening, on my face & neck (avoiding the eye area). I leave it on for 10 minutes, then remove any excess product.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Fast Absorbing Hand Cream R279 BUY rapidly heals dry & rough hands, providing immediate & lasting relief.

This iconic formula, launched in 1972, was originally developed as a solution for hands exposed to the extreme weather temperatures in Norway.

The formula, while still intensely nourishing & soothing, has been upgraded & is now also fast absorbing & leaves no sticky residue. It leaves hands instantly softer & smoother. A beauty icon that even those on a tight budget can enjoy.

This budget beauty serum delivers hydration to thirsty skin.

The Glo Potion by Skin Republic Hydrating Complex 5% R180 BUY packs a real hydrating punch! Together with Hyaluronic acid that improves moisture content in the skin, this beauty also contains aloe vera to soothe and hydrate. Niacinamide has been included to even skin tone, protect the skin and visibly reduce signs of ageing.

Tip: Always apply Hyaluronic Acid serums to a damp skin. This helps with penetration.

This budget beauty effectively removes makeup, including long wearing formulas.

The Skin Functional Oil Cleanser and Makeup Remover R250 BUY is brilliant. It contains 2,5% Jojoba Oil & 2,5% Almond oil that gently melts makeup & impurities.

Use it by applying a few drops onto your palms, then later onto a wet face. It can be used on all skin types, even sensitive & is fragrance & preservative free.

I’m always raving about this next budget beauty buy for the body.

The Bio-Oil Body Lotion R149,95 BUY was formulated to be lighter than any other body lotion, yet more effective than a cream or body butter.

The formulas combination of breakthrough lightness & high-oil content is achieved through and emulsion with a fluid-like consistency in which the water & oil are bound together.

By gently shaking before use, the oil disperses back into the lotion & activates the formula. Ingredients include shea oil, Urea, Hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, Vitamins E F & A, Jojoba seed & calendula.  This was achieved by launching the first shake-before-you-use body lotion. And I love that this super nourishing body lotion is unscented.

A budget Beauty night Cream for those, like me, with sensitive skin.

The Sebamed Anti-Dry Night Intensive Cream R147,95 BUY is such a lovely moisturiser. It soothes skin, calms irritation and improves skin elasticity. Its texture is rich & comforting without being oily.

The formula protects skin against dehydration, relieves itching, tension & burning. All Sebamed products have a pH5.5 formulation – the same as the skin – to support & protect the natural barrier function of the skin’s acid mantle.

Oh, how I love this healing and nourishing balm that comforts and hydrates.

The Litchi & Titch Naturals Beauty Balm R195 BUY is a handbag must-have that smells like heaven. This locally made lovey is prefect for soothing dry skin, chapped lips, cuticles, elbows and heels.

The hero ingredient is Papain; from Pawpaw, that works to help heal cuts, nicks and burns. There’s also Baobab, Rosehip and Sweet Almond oil is this deeply nourishing balm.

I’ve tried many “Budget” Retinol formulas, but the very best one, in my opinion is the Neutrogena Retinol Boost + Intense Night Serum R439 BUY

This serum contains pure Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid and Myrthus Leaf Extract, which is known for its regenerating properties. It also boosts the effectiveness of Retinol by five times!

This lightweight, fast absorbing and unscented oil fights fine lines and deep wrinkles. You use 4-5 drops every evening on clean skin. If you’re new to Retinol, your skin will need to acclimate to this powerful ingredient first, so use it every third evening for two weeks, then every night.
