I recently visited Pulse Dermatology and Laser to try out their GFIT treatment – a Growth Factor Induced treatment. It involves using a Dermastamp all over the area to be treated, followed by a dose of AQ Skin Solutions Recovery Serum and sheet mask (optional).
The AQ Skin Solutions Recovery Serum is loaded with Growth Factors and Peptides to help reverse signs of ageing, help encourage cell turnover and give the skin a radiant glow. The growth factors in the serum have been clinically developed to match, in identical form, the growth factors found within the human body.
What is Dermastamp?
Dermastamp is treatment using very fine needles. It is a medical device used in micro needling to break down old scar tissue and to stimulate new tissue formation. It improves the thickness of the dermis and epidermis. It also improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles, and, because it creates mico channels into the skin, ensures the treatment products you apply thereafter penetrate VERY effectively.
First, my skin was cleaned, and a numbing cream applied to ensure the procedure was painless (which it was). I had a giggle when my therapist Amy started applying cling wrap to my face. I was told the reason for doing this is to speed up the action of the numbing cream.
Watch my Instagram Reel HERE that shows the Dermastamp process
After a 20-minute wait, my skin, neck & décolletage were needled using the Dermastamp. After needling each section (about 15 to 20 times), the AQ Skin Solutions Recovery Serum was applied. The needling creates micro channels that allow for optimal absorption of the serum, making it even more effective.
Once Amy was done using the Dermastamp (it took about 15 minutes to stamp my entire face, neck & décolletage area), the AQ Skin Solutions Intense Moisturising Mask was applied.
This hydro-gel mask contains AQ’s patented Growth Factor formula and works to nourish and hydrate the skin. This intensive mask increases cell and blood vessel production, as well as collagen and elastin production for a youthful complexion with healthy, radiant skin. If you want this as part of your treatment (it’s optional), an extra R300 will be added.
What to expect after a Dermastamp treatment?
A reddening of the skin called Erythema, but this varies from person to person. I only had a slight bit of redness that subsided within 3 hours (see pic below of my skin straight after the treatment). I was told to avoid wearing makeup or sunscreen for 24 hours. It’s also a good idea to avoid any extremes of heat (sauna, vigorous exercise, excessive sweating) or cold for 24–48 hours
This is a picture I took about 3 hours after the treatment. Look at how my skin is glowing!
What are the side effects of a Dermastamp procedure?
There are virtually no negative side effects, and none have ever been reported in over 150,000 procedures performed worldwide.
What to avoid post a Dermastamp procedure:
I was advised to avoid using any Alpha Hydroxy Acids (like Glycolic Acid), Retinols or other very active ingredients for 2-3 days.
