Gosh, it’s been a while since I did a roundup of my favourite things that aren’t beauty related. And there are a few. I really ought to do these style / lifestyle / food posts more often!
All the Shade
I’m so excited to let you know that Desray now have a fabulous eyewear range that includes both sunglasses and readers. Three styles of sunglasses are on offer.
I opted for a pair of the Black Oversized Sunglasses R1,100 (BUY) that are polarized with a frame made of polycarbonate. I love the elegant, slightly edgy style. You can check out the whole eyewear range HERE
Never lose your sunnies or spectacles again!
It features black, white and gold miyuki beads on a 60cm, lightweight chain. The (detachable) silicon grips keep the strap in place and can be used on either sunglasses or spectacles.
Style Hack: You can easily wear this as a necklace or wrapped around the wrist as a bracelet, just remove the silicone grips.
I also received this gorgeous 18ct gold plated Shade Signet Ring R399 (BUY)
It features a durable titanium base, black enamel detail. It’s available in small (16.5mm), medium (17.3mm) and large (18.2mm) and is scratch and water resistant and hypo allergenic.
Here in Cape Town we’re still having some gorgeously warm days – we usually do, well into the May. For those days, I absolutely love these Slim Velvet Havaianas in green R450 (BUY). The velvet finish lends itself to the transitional season and adds a very elegant touch. I know I’ll wear them ALL THE TIME when summer rolls around again. They’re also available in black.
I adore the Peacock Print Blouse, R1,200 (BUY) also from Desray’s new Autumn line. Cut to a basic, classic shape with blouson sleeves that fall to full length with a broad, buttoned mother of pearl cuff, loose hem and side slits and a round neck, this blouse works with any separate. Dress it up or down, it can work for any occasion. I like it styled with a darker shade of denim and paired with either sneakers for day, or heels for the evening.
Cheers to Great Skin, Hair & Nails
Collagen is the most abundant and important proteins in the human body, providing structural and connective support. When hydrolysed collagen is broken down into smaller peptides, it’s easily absorbed and digested by the body. Collagen peptides support joint, bone and skin health, strong nails and hair, glowing skin and healthy ageing.
Bone Broth Guy recently sent me their Collagen Peptides, R250 (BUY) to try and I love how all you need to do is add 2 heaped teaspoons to smoothies, coffee or tea. Best of all is that it has a neutral favour and can also be used in cooking (like soups & stews) because it’s soluble in both hot and cold liquids. This one is Halal, GMO, Gluten, Hormone and antibiotic free.
