If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know that Skin Creamery is one of my most beloved local skincare brands. ALL their products are beautifully formulated using natural ingredients, very affordable, yet all have a luxury feel, and most come in glass packaging that’s recyclable. None of the brands products are tested on animals, nor do they contain any animal; derivatives. I’ve done many posts on their beautiful products that you can read about HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.
Today sees the official launch of the brands newest beauty called The Balm R325 for a 40ml – BUY
The Balm is a healing, hydrating and multi-functional skincare product that assists the skin in coping with everyday environmental stressors. The Balm contains non-comedogenic oils (meaning this product won’t clog or block pores). You can use The Balm on your face, lips, heels, elbows or anywhere on the body to combat dry, sensitive skin.
The formula contains a combination of Marula, Prickly Pear seed and Baobab oils that literally melt into the skin, calming any redness or irritation. Creamy Mango butter gives this balm its melting, butter-like texture, while Helichrysum helps relieve inflammatory skin conditions.
Why is it blue?
Not too worry, there in NO added synthetic colours in The Balm. The blue hue comes from Blue Spirulina that contains 8 essential amino acids, Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin B and Iron. It’s also high in protein, necessary for cell repair and growth. Added to this, Blue Spirulina is a rich source of antioxidants, making Spirulina highly effective in fighting off free radicals (those nasty unstable molecules in the air that cause skin ageing).
And not too worry – when rubbed into the skin and fully absorbed, Spirulina does not leave a blue tint.
I asked Skin Creamery’s founder, Hannah Rubin what the inspiration was for The Balm. “We’ve had so many requests for something richer than the Everyday Cream for dry, dehydrated skin. I wanted to create something healing with concentrated botanicals and herbs that could lock in moisture and give the skin an instant glow. This solid oil is rich and absorbs easily without being too oily.”
I absolutely love The Balm and am using it on the back of my very dry hands dry, elbows and lips. It has a very light, totally natural scent and leaves my skin so nourished.
I have a spectacular Skin Creamery hamper up for grabs valued at R 1009 that contains the following products:
