I’m a big fan of the Elancyl range of body products.
Elancyl is a brand my mother used, and I basically grew up with it. I have clear memories of the green “Massage Glove” as it was called back then having its pride of place next to my mom’s bath. As a young child I was fascinated with this tool.
I actually found an old ad with the exact same massage glove she used to use!
I must have been in my early twenties when I bought my fist massage tool. Fast forward thirty years and I’m still a HUGE fan of the Elancyl brand.
Now, whenever I write a story on products that claim to reduce cellulite & firm & tone the skin, I always add this disclaimer because I’m always asked, “but do they REALLY work?”
Yes, they do actually make a difference to tone & texture while you use them. Stop using them & things return to what they were. It’s a bit like exercise I guess, you see improvements when doing it regularly.
The three key products from the Elancyl range I’ve been using with regularity for a while. During winter I usually don’t use them, but as we edge closer to the warmer months, and right through summer, I use them daily.
Elancyl Slim Massage Device & Gel Set (R529) and Slim Massage Refill Gel (R195)
If you’ve ever asked me to recommend something that really helps to firm & tone the skin & help reduce the appearance of cellulite, this is the tool I’ll most likely have told you about. I can’t rave enough about how well it works – once you try it, you’ll see.
Its effectiveness lies in the massage method that was developed in collaboration with a physiotherapist as a natural extension of the hand. The combined action of the rollers, which grip and roll the skin simultaneously while maintaining the ideal pressure results in more toned skin and less visible cellulite. Used in conjunction with the Anti-Cellulite Concentrate Gel (which smells AMAZING), it reduces the appearance of cellulite, assists with micro-circulation and detoxification and refines the silhouette.
You use the device and gel in the shower. Simply open the nozzle and insert it into the hole in the tool (as in the image). Press firmly on the tube to fill the reservoir and begin your massage. Be sure to rinse thoroughly after use. The Slim Massage device and gel can also be used on the stomach and upper arms – see my video below on how to use it for best results.
Elancyl Energizing Foaming Scrub (R189)
The Energizing Foaming Scrub both beautifies and preps the skin. I won’t lie, this is a scrub I purchase regularly, throughout the year. Both my 17-year-old daughter & I love it. We LOVE the fact that it foams, and often use it on our entire bodies.
The exfoliating micro-particles are plant-based and derived from apricot kernel powder for effective exfoliation. As with most scrubs, it works to soften and smooth the skin, making it more receptive to the action of the products you use after. The formula contains ivy extract that helps with toning. Oh, and it has the most MAGNIFICENT, very invigorating scent. It’s advisable to use it two to three times a week.
Slim Design 2-in-1 Firming Oil (R329)
Use the Firming Oil once out the shower on dry skin. It’s the final product I use in my body care regime and has a dual action:
1: THE AQUEOUS PHASE [Caffeine + Ivy] Reduces the appearance of cellulite, assists with detoxification and re-sculpts the silhouette by strengthening the skin’s firmness and elasticity.
2: THE OIL PHASE [Camelina Oil] Strengthens the skin’s elasticity and suppleness and helps reduce the appearance of early stretch marks (those that are still pink in colour). Camelina oil is a 100% natural plant oil very high in essential fatty acids (Omega 3). It helps improve the skin’s elasticity and flexibility and reduces the risk of stretch marks appearing.
To use, shake the bottle so the two formulas mix. Spritz onto thighs, hips and stomach using the massage method below in the video. If used correctly, results are visible from as little as 7 days (and they are, I’ve seen with my own eyes)
View my video HERE that illustrates how to use all the products using the Elancyl method that is recommended to ensure optimum results.
I must add that it’s all fine and well to use firming/anti-cellulite products, but if you want to see visible results, you have to eat correctly and include daily exercise into your lifestyle.
HERE is an easy exercise routine I do to firm arms, butt, legs & tummy. I do each exercise for 30 seconds, then take a 10 second break before starting the next. I do the whole routine 2 or 3 times if I’m feeling strong, energetic & motivated.
Elancyl products are available at DisChem stores nationwide and online from TakeALot & Zando.

I’m a ‘firm’ (😉) believer that prevention is the best solution! As we all age a little more each year (although it sometimes feels like we’ve all aged 10 years in 2020 alone) our bodies need an extra little boost! These products are absolutely amazing to assist- especially with ingredients such as Camelina oil!

Camelina Oil. I also remember my mom using these products when I was a little girl. I’ve never used cellulite products because there are so many articles on how products don’t work on cellulite, but I’d be very keen to try Elancyl – it’s certainly stood the test of time ;). Thank you Candice, I really love your reviews.
