Today is on the chilly side & I need to venture outdoors to get a new hard drive & stock up on some supplies. I’m a tad nervous, as I haven’t been to an actual shopping center for over two months!
This gorgeous jacket is made using a wool blend and I adore its oversized shape. This car coat is effectively a relaxed take on the classic tailored blazer.
I do think it’s important for a winter jacket to be lined as this creates a smooth fit. I like that the lining of this jacket is green as the colour works well with the check fabric. There is also a front fastening button so the jacket can be worn opened or closed.
The two large functional pockets are essential if you, like me, always find yourself mindlessly stuffing your pockets with bits & bobs (mine include lip balm, tissues, a phone and sunnies)
I also like that there are small design details that make this coat so unique, like this tulip cut one the sleeve.
What I love MOST about this coat is that it reminds me of this one I saw last winter by Anine Bing – one of mine & Desray’s style icons.
Obviously, hers was not affordable at $400, but thanks to DESRAY, I’m now able to own a similar one!
This coat is just so versatile. Today I’m pairing it with jeans and a simple white long sleeve T-shirt. I would also wear it over a rock T-Shirt (I have a classic Rolling Stones one), grey or black skinny jeans & biker boots. I know I’m going to get so much wear out of it during the next few months because of its contemporary style, comfort and, most importantly, warmth.
