I adore bold bright shades of grass green and find when I wear this colour, it does wonders for my mood, making me feel more energetic, happy, & connected to nature.

Last week, I attended a beauty launch in the Cape wine lands and thought it the perfect occasion to wear my newly acquired Green Linen Pleat Dress from DESRAY (was R1200) now R840 at DESRAY (BUY)

Not only do I love the colour, but the shape of the dress is perfect for my body type – which tends to carry weight around the waist area (if you have a small waist, you could add a belt to accentuate your waist).

The length is great because it allows me to show off my legs – one of my best assets. I hate fashion “rules” that state women over forty shouldn’t wear shorter dresses and believe if you have good legs, you should show them off with pride, no matter what your age!

I love the simple style of this quintessential summer dress made using a linen/cotton blend, and how fluid & comfortable it is to wear. The shape is reminiscent of an oversized T-Shirt, ensuring maximum comfort. I also like the round neck which is cut relatively high up – great for more mature women battling with the ravages of sun damage on the décolletage (like me!). The style also features very feminine pleating in the front & a single pleat at the back, and capped, hemmed sleeves that add a pretty touch.

I accessorized the dress with a PICHULIK neck piece I bought years ago (see similar HERE) and wear regularly as I find it amps up any outfit.

Excuse the questionable self tan application on my ankles & feet #LOL

I opted for my beloved green slip-on espadrilles from local brand Espadril  two years ago. You can purchase similar HERE.

I decided on a pretty simple makeup look with bright, bold orange lips.

The Revlon Photoready Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation (R149.99) (my shade is 270 Medium Beige) has fast become a favourite foundation because of its creamy texture that goes on like a moisturiser. It also blends beautifully & covers any uneven skin tone. It contains anti-pollution, antioxidant & anti-blue light ingredients.

I used the Revlon Photoready Candid Antioxidant Concealer (R149.99) under my eyes and LOVE the texture of this ultra-bendable, buildable concealer. The formula has caffeine that’s great at stimulating circulation, resulting in less prominent dark under eye circles.

To set my makeup, I use the Revlon Photoready candid Anti-Pollution Setting Powder (R149.99) which gives the skin an airbrushed effect, while fighting the damaging effects of pollution.

On my lips I’m wearing the new Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish (R169) in 905 She’s on Fire. It coats the lips in full-coverage, glossy colour in just one swipe! It’s formulated with shea butter, aloe juice & vitamin E. Think of it as a full-coverage lip gloss.

I applied two coats of the Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara (R165) (available in waterproof & non waterproof) and love how the formula amps up my lashes.

On my cheeks I dusted a bit of the Revlon Powder Blush (R249) in 027 Hot Cheeks for a pop of colour.

On my nails & toenails I wearing my all-time favourite red shade by Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel (R135) in a shade called 600 Queen of Hearts.

My scent of the day was Les Aux De CHANEL Paris Riviera (R2070 for a 125ml).

This fragrance launched towards the end of last year and is a fresh, radiant floral scent. It contains my two ultimate favourite fragrance notes: Sicilian orange and Neroli as is the kind of scent EVERYONE comments on – it’s just so lovely. And I adore the simple, sleek bottle with its rounded shape that fits into the palm of the hand. This fragrance has great lasting power of about 6-8 hours.
