I’m always so excited when I’m sent locally made products that are efficacious, well priced and come in beautiful packaging. Aloe Unique is one such line.
All the Aloe Unique products contain Aloe Ferox – a plant endemic to South Africa. Aloe Ferox is ideal for skincare as it nourishes, hydrates, reduces swelling and inflammation, improves skin elasticity & speeds up healing & cell regeneration.
I was sent a whole lovely package of goodies to try and I can’t wait to tell you all about them!
Aloe Unique 2 in 1 Light Everyday Facial Lotion R124 for 100ml (BUY)
My hubby, daughter & I are all using & loving this ultra-light, non-greasy moisturiser that hydrates the skin. It’s loaded with skin loving ingredients like Avocado oil, Vitamins A, B, C & E as well as Aloe Ferox. It is suitable for all skin types, and while it says ideal for oily to combination skin, I think even quite dry skin will love this. When I first tried it, I was kind of expecting your usual, run-of-the-mill facial moisturiser but was surprised by how nourishing (without being oily) this was and how lovely my skin felt after using it. Given the excellent price, this product is a real budget beauty I know you will all love!
Aloe Unique Aloe & Honey Gel Mask R119 (BUY)
Okay, so I’ll admit I’m given to occasional moments of beauty drama, but OMG THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MASKS I’VE EVER USED (& I’ve tried a lot of facial masks in my 16-year beauty career). I love that you can leave this mask on & I use it 3 times a week at night as a rejuvenating & hydrating treatment. The texture of this beauty is also superb. It’s a soothing, clear gel that contains honey & aloe ferox as well as antioxidants and works to deeply nourish dehydrated skin while also energizing it. All you need is a thin layer applied over the face. This mask can also be used on all skin types. If there’s one product you need to try from the Aloe Unique skin care line, it’s this!
Aloe Unique Gentle Facial Wash R99 (BUY)
What a lovely, mild face wash! Again, my hubby, daughter & I are all using this gentle, light formula that removes impurities and excess oil leaving the skin clean, clarified and soothed without feeling dry or tight. I always remove my makeup before washing my face (& so should you!), so I can’t really speak on its capabilities to remove say a longwearing foundation or mascara. However, it does remove tinted moisturiser very well.
Aloe Unique Age Defying Serum R299 (BUY)
If you’re looking for a very well-priced, do-it-all serum that addresses hyperpigmentation & ageing, try this one out. I am SO impressed with it and the formulation is great. It contains a potent concentration of antioxidants (Vitamins A & C), high levels of Aloe Ferox leaf extract and borage oil. It works to prevent and reverse the appearance of wrinkles, lines and hyperpigmentation. It has a very lightweight, refreshing texture that absorbs quickly. I use it day & evening before I apply my moisturiser.
Tip: Apply the serum, then layer a thin layer of the Aloe & Honey gel Mask over to give the skin an intensive treat.
Aloe Unique Fragrance Free Soap R49 (BUY)
I’m on a bit of a mission to find fragrance free, super gentle soaps that even the most sensitive skins can use. Soap, because it comes in minimal packaging, is kinder to the environment than body washes packaged in plastic bottles.
This one is handmade and contains glycerine and other natural ingredients. It’s free of additives, fragrance or colour, so even sensitive skins can use it. I use it on both body & face (after removing my make-up) and it cleans beautifully without leaving skin feeling tight or dry.
Aloe Unique SPF 30 Sun lotion R139 (BUY)
I really like this soft and silky lotion that contains Aloe Ferox and protects the skin from UV damage. It’s light and absorbs into the skin very quickly, protecting while keeping it hydrated.
Aloe Unique After Sun Gel with Aloe Ferox R99 (BUY)
If you’re suffering with sun or wind burnt skin, try this! The formula contains antibacterial tea tree, cooling menthol and Aloe Ferox to rehydrate and calm irritated skin. The formula does contain a colourant though (the gel is a light blue), so if you’re looking for a more natural product with no added colour, rather try the Aloe Unique Aloe Gel. I wrote a post on how it saved my skin two years ago – read more HERE.
Aloe Unique Anti-Insect Gel R112 (BUY)
This product really piqued my interest because I’m always on the lookout for more natural solutions to the summer mozzy issue (they LOVE me, those pesky, blood-suckers). The formula contains all the ingredients insects hate like geranium, citronella and peppermint oils. Aloe Ferox has been included for it’s soothing & healing qualities. The gel spreads easily and calms any existing bites. It’s suitable for all skin types, but test patch it first one very sensitive/reactive skin types as peppermint can be an irritant.
I have a Aloe Unique hamper valued at R690 up for grabs containing the following products:
