It’s been a while since I did a round-up of non-beauty related items I’m absolutely loving.

Shady Lady

First up are my gorgeous new sunnies from Snob Milano. This Italian brand is relatively new to South Africa but given their stunning selection of both optical’s and sunglasses, I reckon you’ll be seeing a hearing a lot more about it. Snob Milano puts its popularity down to frame technology construction coupled with solid, traditional shapes. The collection is 100% made in Italy and everything is produced internally in Sordelli, where every single step of the process is managed. The lenses are spectacular, and I was amazed to learn that they’re made with a Nylon base, which gives them their unique reflection & effects.

I just adore the gold metal frame with tobacco coloured fading engraved lenses on the style I chose. My sunnies, pictured above, retail for R3990. Snob Milano are giving my readers a 10% discount on any sunglasses. Simply use this code: IMB08 to get your discount

What a Charm!

In December last year, the lovely folks at Thomas Sabo sent me this sterling silver charm bracelet and a super cool, vintage style charm with a skull and snake symbol on both sides. I just adore it as it speaks to my rebellious attitude.

The charm bracelet retails for R850, but is also on sale less 50% so is now R425. It’s made of sterling silver, is adjustable lengthwise and has a lobster clasp.

The charm itself retails for R3225, but I see it’s on sale for less 50% so now only costs R1612.

If you’re looking at starting a charm bracelet (every woman should have one in her jewellery collection), these two items are a must have.

Low Key Chic

Local fashion brand Desray has such a great selection of summer styles. Towards the end of December, I popped into the Newlands store and couldn’t resist this beautiful, silk blend Kaftan (R1750). I love the hand embroidered detail and the blue and mint coloured print. This is the prefect piece to elevate your leisure-wear look, or to simply throw over your bikini. It can also be paired with skinny denims for a head-turning look.

The one available on the website HERE costs slightly less (R1500) and is a tad different from mine, but if you want one exactly the same, pop into one of Desray’s stores in CT or JHB. Find your closest store HERE

Sliding into the New Year with Style

I’m drawn to animal prints, especially on accessories likes shoes and belts. I’ve been on the lookout for a great pair of leopard print heels for ages (still haven’t found the perfect pair), but I did find these ‘Madrid’ slides from Country Road that retail for R795. I like the contemporary design with the cut-out details and the padded insole, which makes these slides so comfy. They are just the accessory to add a bit of interest to a monochrome look. Buy HERE

What’s Cooking?

For Christmas, my hubby gifted me with this cookbook by Melissa Delport called Whole: Bowl Food for Balance (R276) available at Exclusive Books. In essence, this beautiful cookbook is all about taking the time to get to know your body, treating it with respect and nourishing it with fresh food. If you’re interested in eating mindfully, cutting out processed foods and embracing the foods that fuel you and leave you feeling energized, you’ll find real joy with this cook book. Thus far I’ve made 4 dishes from the book and all have been a success. I like that many of the recipes are vegan or vegetarian, or can easily be adapted to suit either lifestyle choice.

Off the Cuff

Kirsten Goss always gets it so right with her jewellery!

A few months ago, I featured some items from her new Wild Card collection (HERE) and mentioned how much I loved this particular cuff. Lucky me, because one of my best girlfriends saw the feature and gifted me with the cuff for Christmas. I absolutely adore it because it adds an element of interest and edginess whenever I wear it (which is often). The design is just awesome and plays with the idea of unpredictable scale & form. It’s super comfortable to wear too (you’d be surprised at how many cuffs aren’t). It retails for R1790 & can be purchased online HERE.
