I always have a hand cream on-the-ready at my desk

You can (generally) tell a person’s age by looking at their hands – so if you want yours to appear youthful, hydrated and plump, care for them properly. This is done by regularly applying a good hand cream that prevents the skin from drying out, while keeping it nourished, soft and luminous looking.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been using two favourites from the Dove DermaSpa range that beautify the hands and cost under R70 each.

First up is the Dove DermaSpa Cashmere Comfort Hand Treatment (R63) that I like using during the day. The first time I heard of, or tried this hand cream was two years ago when I was in New York with Dove to celebrate the brands 60th birthday.

About to explore the streets of Manhattan with Lerato Seuoe from True Love Magazine

The morning we arrived in the Big Apple, the PR manager and I had a quick coffee to go through our schedule for the day. Our hands were dry (we had been flying for close on 18 hours) and she whipped out the Dove DermaSpa Cashmere Comfort Hand Treatment. Dove DermaSpa had not yet officially launched in South Africa. “What’s that?” I asked, “and how come I’ve never seen it back home?. The PR manager gave me a smile and told me that DermaSpa was about to launch locally, and I would get the chance later that day to play with some of the products. You can read my previous posts reviewing the full range HERE and more on my NYC trip with Dove HERE and HERE

What’s In My Bag? A great hand cream of course, to keep my skin soft, smooth, supple and hydrated.

I remember applying this hand cream onto my hands for the very first time, and immediately being struck by its fresh smell and rich and comforting formula. It’s a funny thing, but every time I use it, I’m reminded of my time in NYC.

The Cashmere Comfort range is DermaSpa’s most effective and indulgent treat for dry skin and is enriched with Cell-Moisturisers that work hard to deeply moisturise. The unique scent is a blend of creamy vanilla, rich spices and a hint of sensual amber.

If you wash your hands a lot during the day like I do, you’ll know how easily they can dry out. Constant hand washing using harsh soaps or sanitizers strips the skin of its natural moisture. If you want your hands to feel soft and hydrated, you need to apply a hand cream after each wash.

The Cashmere Comfort Hand Treatment is a portable pocket of care in the palm of your hands – easy to apply for beautifully soft skin and cared-for cuticles and nails on the go. The rich formula is quickly absorbed and softens the hands in an instant. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue (my absolute worst) but does take a minute or two for the formula to fully absorb into the hands. I also like that one can see a difference in the skin immediately after application.

Come bed time, I always take a minute to apply hand cream

Come night time, I switch up my hand care routine and just before going to sleep, smother my hands with the Goodness 3 Indulgent Hand Cream. Along with Cell-Moisturisers that plump and moisture the skin, this formula contains Omega oil that replenishes its barrier. It works exceptionally well overnight on very dry skin to deeply hydrate. Come morning, my hands are velvety soft and my skin’s texture beautifully smoothed. I also find the notes of  vanilla, succulent coconut and musk so soothing and relaxing.

The DoveDerma Spa range is available at leading pharmacies and retailers like Clicks & Dis-Chem. Have you tried any of the DermaSpa products and if you have, which are your favourites?

I recently purchased the Dove Derma Spa body oil and love how my skin glows after applying it. Will defiantly check out the hand creams.

Love Dove and need a new hand cream. Can I find these at Pick n’ Pay?

Hi Lauren, I know they are available at Clicks & Dis-Chem. You should be able to find them at PNP, but let me double check.

Thanks for the comment, Heather. I also LOVE the DermaSpa Goodness 3 Silky Body Oil & will be doing a post (& giveaway) on it in the very near future 🙂
