Kiehl's holding 1 - fruit face

These four facial treats from Kiehl’s are on high rotation in my beauty routine, simply because they work so well and deliver real results you can see and feel.

I’m really into oils at the moment, and one of my favourites is the Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate (R755) – a sister product to their iconic Nighttime Recovery Concentrate (one of my all-time favourite products).

kiehl's daily reviving concentrate

This facial oil is best used during the day to help protect the skin’s defenses against environmental aggressors (like pollution, air conditioning, UV). It’s lightweight, non greasy and helps to visibly perk up the skin, enhancing radiance while erasing the signs of fatigue.

It contains Tamanu Botanical oil that reduces the appearance of damage (sun damage & fine lines) while replenishing and comforting the skin. Sunflower Botanical Oil is also included to hydrate, soften and visibly improve the texture of the skin. Lastly, there’s Ginger Root Essential Oil – an effective antioxidant that protects against free radical damage and environmental aggressors.

It is important for me to mention that this oil does NOT contain any SPF, so you need to use one. To use, simply massage two to three drops of the oil onto clean skin. You could also mix a few drops with your day cream or even with your foundation to give your skin a real glow.

Kiehl's tumeric mask

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque (R465) is designed to boost radiance and energize dull, fatigued skin. It contains turmeric extract that soothes skin while detoxifying it. Turmeric is a fantastic radiance booster, antioxidant, and has antiseptic and sebum balancing qualities (making it great for combination/oily skin). Cranberry is rich in antioxidants and the crushed berry seeds gently exfoliate the skin.

I just love how I can instantly see a glow on my skin after using this. You apply it onto clean skin; leave it to dry for 5-10 minutes, and then gently remove it with warm water, working in a circular motion so you also get the benefits of the exfoliating cranberry seeds.

Kiehl's cilantro mask

Then there’s the Kiehl’s Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque (R465) – A pollution fighting formula that protects and prevents skin damage brought on by pollution. This masque contains Bitter Orange Extract – an excellent antioxidant that fights the effects of pollution in the skin, encouraging barrier repair. Cilantro (or as we know it, Coriander) and Vitamin E oils nourish and strengthen the skin, helping it to better withstand the effects of pollution.

This is essentially a leave on and wipe-off mask with a smooth, thick and creamy texture. It’s recommended that you apply a thin layer onto clean skin at night, wait 10 minutes, and then wipe off excess (without washing face) and go sleep. You could also slap it on in the place of a nighttime moisturiser and go sleep (this is how I use it). Lastly, you could apply a thickish layer to clean skin, allow it to work for about 30 minutes, and then rinse off with warm water.

Kiehl's refining con 1

Kiehl’s Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate (R750) is AMAZING! It’s a refining concentrate, which basically means it gently exfoliates the skin. It improves tone and texture while leaving the skin feeling soft and looking radiant. The key ingredient, Quinoa husks, has been added because of their exemplary skin exfoliation benefits. This product can be used on all skin types – even sensitive. You use it nightly by applying 2-3 drops to clean skin before your serum and moisturiser. I was so impressed at how smooth my skin felt the morning after I first used it.

I think the Kiehl’s Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate is a fantastic option for those looking for a gentle alternative to a chemical peel. It’s one of my top products for 2016 – you simply have to try it.
