I have to admit, my winter boot collection is coming on very nicely thanks to Bronx. My latest acquisition includes these stunning tobacco brown “Nelly” boots (see more details here) that feature really cool gold plated zips and buckles. I love that they’re fabricated at the back, as this allows for a more comfortable fit, especially if you have muscular calves, like me.
I paired the boots with this ‘Boho’ dress from Desray (R960) I bought in November last year. Thankfully, due its popularity, they’ve made more and you’ll find them in stores now (but there aren’t many left, so hurry).
On warmer days, I wear the dress with bare legs, but when it’s cold, I pair it with thick ribbed stockings in cream (available at Woolworths).
Because this is quite a simple, almost boho kind of look, I decided to play up my pout with the new MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in ‘High Drama”(R330). I’m having a real moment with this robustly saturated shade of burgundy that coats the lips with a liquid suede finish.
When lips are this full on, you really want to keep the rest of your make-up simple. Aside from some foundation and mascara, I swept a little of the NYX Illuminator Powder in Enigmatic (R154.95) onto my cheekbones. The radiant shimmer of this illuminator diffuses light, so skin looks refreshed and vibrant. It also brings a gorgeous glow to the complexion.
I decided on the new Narcisco Poudrée EDP by Narciso Rodriguez (R880 for a 30ml available 15 April). I love its soft, powdery musk heart note that’s surrounded by a blend of white jasmine petals, Bulgarian rose and cedar woods. It lingers beautifully, leaving a soft trail wafting in your wake.
My nails are coated with “Tan My Hide” from Morgan Taylor’s new Urban Cowgirl Collection (R135). I’d describe the colour as an off white with the slightest hint of lilac. It’s definitely one of my favourite nail colours for winter.
