desray dress FL

The current heat wave we’re having in South Africa calls for casual and cool dressing. A few weeks back I popped into Desray – one of my favourite local designer stores – and found this super cool and colourful kaftan dress that retails for R850 (currently in stores, so hurry if you want one!)

Even though it has three quarter sleeves (that hides any upper arm issues), it keeps me cool on those hot and sweltering days. I love that it has pockets and a Chinese collar design that you can either tie or leave open.

The striking pattern and colour combination of pink, salmon, turquoise, white and black makes for an eye-catching look.

Because the hemline sits just above the knee, I prefer to wear it with flat sandals, although a pair of espadrilles or wedge heels would also work. The white leather sandals I’m wearing are by local, Durban based Jane Sews (I’m OBSESSED with their clothing and accessories) and cost R799. They are SO worth that price as not only are they locally made, but the workmanship & quality is beyond amazing. You can purchase them HERE.

You look STUNNING 😉 x

That dress looks so pretty!

Thanks lovely Megan 🙂

Thanks Candice, I absolutely love it – keeps me cool in this sweltering heat.

I want them all – so gorgeous. Now just need to look into my post-holiday bank account!

Happy New Year Caryn! I’m also obsessed with Desray clothing – the fit, style and general wearability of her clothing really speaks to my style ethos. Also, supporting local designers continues to be a BIG priority for me. See you soon, hopefully 🙂

Love it! Thanks for sharing Candice-Lee. You look absolutely fabulous! 😉

Thanks Desray – love your clothing so, SO much.

Stunning dress. I also love Desray and pop into their Parkhurst store weekly. Haven’t seen this dress though. Time to pay them another visit.

Also just check out Jane Sews. I hadn’t heard of this brand before and have just looked at their website. Really nice, classic clothing. The kids stuff is also very cute.

You can do no wrong. Love this dress and how you styled it with the flats. Jane Sews is one of my favourites too.

Aah Lalannie, thank you 🙂
Currently obsessed with Jane Sews too. It really is my mission this year to showcase the best of local designers (clothing, shoes & jewellery) – we so need to support the local industry. Thanks for your comment. X

Thanks Lyndia. Desray have opened two new stores in JHB; one in Dainfern & one in Pretoria – check them out, especially the one in Brooklyn Mall – it’s incredible. Thanks for the comments 🙂

I need this dress – seriously!

Ii would look amazing on you Kimmie. There is a Desray store at the Gardens Centre – very close to your work. X
