To my readers, it must seem as if all my clothing is from Desray.
The truth is that most of it is – I guess you could call me an unofficial ambassador for her brand. I love the cut and fit of the clothing and find that Desray pieces are the ones I reach for most often. Also, I’m passionate about supporting local clothing brands and Desray Fashions has been around for almost 20 years.
Below are my five favourite items that are on serious high rotation.
My absolute favourite item is the grey Weekend Boiler Jacket (R1670). I have to stop myself from wearing it all the time. It’s got a very chic yet casual vibe. It’s super warm and I love the hood that I slip on when it’s blowing a gale outside.
I love a denim shirt (R750) and find myself investing in a new one every winter. Denim shirts are just so versatile. I love the deep blue colour of this one. It’s also made with a slightly stiff cotton denim fabric, so it fits and falls unbelievably well. When I’m wanting a smart look, I pair it with my black leather skirt and heels. For a more casual look, I wear it with black skinny trousers of faded grey skinny jeans. For cooler summer days, a denim shirt paired with white denim jeans is super chic.
The Graffiti scarf (R380) is another item I’m totally in love with. Aside from keeping my neck warm, I think it adds an interesting element to a monochrome look.
The slightly A-line shape of this Mosaic top (R720) works really well with my body shape (read chubby tummy!). I wear it with faded blue skinny denims or the grey ones below. Depending on where I’m going, or what I’m doing, I’ll either throw on my flat black knee-high boots or my white Converse High Tops. I can see myself wearing this top as a bikini cover-up in summer too.
I can’t tell you how long I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of grey, faded skinny jeans. I wanted a pair made with proper denim (not denim that feels like cotton) with a leg length that falls just on my ankles. When I saw and tried these on, it was instant attraction that’s grown into a deep love. Again, I have to stop myself from wearing them ALL THE TIME. These cost (R750)
