I recently received the most delightful box from Gosh Copenhagen – filled to the brim with some the coolest make-up items from the Assortment //AW 17 collection. Best of all is that each product featured cost under R300!

Let’s take a look:

GOSH First up is the brilliant Colour Corrector Kit (001 Colour Mix), R195

It includes 5 colour correction shades:

  1. Concealer – great for covering small imperfections
  2. Yellow – Cover up purple or blue bruises, veins and under-eye circles
  3. Green – Neutralize any redness on the skin (rosacea or sunburn)
  4. Purple – eliminate any unwanted yellow tones from the skin
  5. Peach – brighten the eye area, cover signs of fatigue. Great for giving sallow, olive toned skin a radiance.

Tips For Use:

Pat concealer onto the skin – don’t rub, as this causes the product to wipe off. Apply a small amount of concealer and gently pat with on with the fingertip of your ring finger.

If applying the concealer to areas with fine lines or wrinkles, it can crease. Avoid this by applying a primer before the concealer – and be sure to set with powder.

GOSH Primer Plus+ Skin Adaptor Anti-Pollution, R225

This multi-functional colour release primer enhances any skin tone, giving it a healthy and even-toned glow. It also smoothes and protects the skin. It contains a complex of anti-pollution ingredients that fight free-radical damage, while protecting the skin from atmospheric pollution such as cigarette smoke, car exhaust and heavy metals.

I use mine every morning on clean skin after applying my moisturiser. When you decant the product out the bottle, you’ll notice it’s an off white colour. As you start blending, you’ll notice it It transforms into a radiant tint that’s super sheer and works for virtually all skin tones. It adds a wonderful, refreshed glow to the skin.

GOSH Prime’ N Set Primer & Mattifying Setting Powder in Banana R235

If you suffer with Rosacea, or just have pink undertones on your skin you want to conceal, this silky, loose translucent powder was made for you! It works for almost anyone with a warmer skin tone, and can also be used for covering up dark under-eye circles, setting makeup, or – as I mentioned above – colour correcting surface redness. You can use it on specific areas, or over the entire face as a matte finishing powder. It really is a must-have products (according to most makeup artists I’ve worked with.)

GOSH Eye Shadow Primer R165

Oily eyelids? Try this nude eye shadow primer that ensures vibrant, crease-free wear while making eye shadow stay put the whole day. It’s formulated with polymer technology that preps the lids for all-day wear. It has a wonderfully soft, silky and creamy texture and is super easy to apply and blend. Simply apply the primer along the upper lash line to prep the lid, then extend it down to the lower lash line, to make sure your liner stay in place all day. Use the sponge tip to lightly blend.

GOSH Brow Shape & Fill R165

This nifty dual ended pencil contains a retractable brow pencil at one end and a powder at the other end. Use the pencil to define the outer shape of the brows, and the powder to fill in.

GOSH Growth Serum R165

If you, like me, over tweezed your brows and need to a formula to boost growth, do try this. Formulated with proven and effective Sympeptide ® XLash, this serum stimulates the natural growth of eyebrows. Best used twice daily on clean, dry eyebrows – simply apply this serum with the brush applicator along the natural brow line with a few quick strokes. The brush bristle help set and tame brows, while the serum delivers conditioning and growth agents.

GOSH Lumidrops R160

This is hands down my favourite liquid highlighter because it’s super lightweight and you can use it in a multitude of ways:

  • On its own for a radiant finish
  • For strobing, apply few drops applied to areas the sun would naturally hit the face (like cheek & brow bones, bridge of the nose, tip of the chin and the cupids bow.
  • Mix it with your foundation, day cream or even a body lotion to add a natural looking glow.

Two colour are available: Rose Gold (pictured) and Gold

GOSH Strobe’ N Glow Kit R285

This nifty kit is great for highlighting, strobing, definition, and adding a gorgeous glow.

Below are some tips on how to use highlighter and where to apply it:

  • Use just under the brow bone (but above the crease of the eyelid) to give the illusion of bigger eyes.
  • Apply a small amount of highlighter to the centre of the apples of the cheeks to create a glow – as opposed to a more contoured look.
  • Brighten the eyes up with just a pinch of highlighter applied to the inner corner of the eyes.
  • Give lipstick a really clean look by applying highlighter on the cupid’s bow.
  • A touch of highlighter applied to the centre of the eye lid makes eyes appear bigger and more awake.

GOSH My Favourite Mascara R165

This is a great everyday mascara option for those looking for lash separation, volume and definition. It’s key ingredient is a film forming agent that resists tears and humidity. What I really also like about this product is that it washes off with 38 degree water (no eye-makeup remover needed!). You simply splash water onto lashes several times, and press gently to remove. Alternatively, saturate a cotton pad in 38 degree water, press on lashes and wipe away.

Tip: To make lashes look even thicker; apply a coat of black eyeliner to the upper waterline of the eye. To do this, pull up the lash line a bit and run a black eyeliner on the top of the waterline.

GOSH Lift & Highlight R185

Perfect to highlight the inner eye corners, cupid’s bow and under the brow bone, this double ended pencil has a highlighter on one side, and a low-lighter on the other. The highlighter shade is infused with a subtle shimmer that reflects light, while the low-lighter imparts a matte finish.

Use the matte or shimmery part to either lift or highlight inner eye corner, cupid’s bow or under the brow bone. Blend upward and outward using the index finger. The highlighter tip is also perfect to dot in the inner corner, between the eyes and nose for a more alert look.

Use the matte pencil during the day – draw a line along the brow bone, or dot in the inner corner of the ye to subtly illuminate the eyes.

Available in 2 shades: 001 Nude (pictured) is great for tanned or olive complexions, while 002 Rose is perfect for paler skin tones.

GOSH 9 Shade Eye Shadow Palette in 005 To Party In London R280

This palette contains 9 shades in a variety of finishes: shimmery, matte and metallic. All shadows have an excellent colour payoff, and mix and blend easily.

While there is no longer a right or wrong way to use eye shadow, there are some tips and trick worth bearing in mind:

  • Always use the lightest colour to highlight just under the brow bone.
  • The second lightest colour usually always looks good on the lid.
  • The second darkest colour works best in the crease.
  • The darkest colour usually works best in the outer corner.

Tip: All colours will last longer if you apply Eye Shadow Primer beforehand.
