BAG IT
I won this gorgeous leather saddle bag from Alex & Marla (R1999) in a competition run by Lokal – a website dedicated to showcasing incredible South African brands. It’s just so beautifully made comfortable to wear. Because of it’s neutral tan colour, it works with just about everything in my wardrobe. I’m amazed at how much I can actually fit into this bag that has two main compartments, both with a divider and one side has two smaller pockets. IF THE HAT FITS
I’ve been looking for a cool straw sun hat for ages now. While there are many available, their quality is generally not great. So I was thrilled when I received this beauty from Protea & Dahlia by SoulSista. The fashion and lifestyle brand is inspired by nature, travel, art and South Africa & Mexico – the owners two homes. Called “The Sol”, this hat (R1795) is made using twisted sea grass – a very popular straw, as it can be stiffened with a layer of varnish. What I love most about it is it’s sturdy design, and how comfortably it fits my head. It also has a beautiful, brightly coloured hand woven fabric band that gives it a uniqueness. WARM & COZY
Two days ago, Cotton On sent me a box containing some lovely spoils for Mother’s Day. My favourite item is this chunky, cable knit cream jersey (R899). It feels soft and luxurious against the skin, and is just the items to pair with denim jeans on a cold winter’s day. It’s also available in black and is in stores now.
NOW SMELL THIS
This incredible smelling scented candle (R249) was also part of my Cotton-On Mother’s Day Spoils. Can I just say that the smell – which is made up of peony and lilac – is AMAZING! Best of all, it has 36 hours of burning time and scents any room with it’s lovely fragrance. I reckon it would make a pretty cool last minute budget Mother’s Day gift.
SHADY LADY
I love the Vogue Eyewear brand. Over the past few years, they’ve really upped their game and produced trendy, edgy and really stylish sunnies and specs. I was very excited to add this super cool style – called the V-Edge – to my collection. They design features grey metal frames with edgy, upswept brow cut-out details and pink mirrored lenses. I’m not 100% sure of the price, but know Vogue is a super affordable eyewear brand, so I wouldn’t think they retail for more than R1500.
